My name is Troy Eckhardt (as you may have guessed by the URL), and I’d like to introduce myself and my motivation for creating this website.

I am first an foremost a Bible-believing Christian.

I was the husband to a wonderful, beautiful, spectacular wife (my high school sweetheart,) but she was diagnosed with a brain tumor, an astrocytoma, in her left temporal lobe in mid-2016. This monster took her life on February 19th, 2019 at 7:23 in the evening. I miss her desperately.

God gave me a second chance! I am now married to Shea, and had we met as teens, she could have been my high school sweetheart, too.

I am the dad to seven children (six living), and they are the pride and joy of my life. Currently, they range from 25 to 10 years of age. I also have two step sons and two foster sons.

I work from home as an Enrolled Agent and the owner of a public accounting firm. I have a modest number of clients for whom I do monthly accounting, including payroll, sales tax computation and remission, corporate income taxes, etc. I also prepare about 300-400 personal income tax returns each year. I make an acceptable living. Before I was an accountant, I was a school teacher (physics and German.) God willing, I do not intend ever to work away from home again.

I have been a scoutmaster (Troop 804, Glenwood, Florida), and I am an amateur radio operator (WD4BSA). I also enjoy woodworking. Well, honestly, I watch more woodworking on YouTube than I actually DO. I am currently setting up a decent woodworking shop in my barn.

Formerly on this domain, I expressed my political and social opinions. I have decided to move those opinions to other domains, and to make troyeckhardt.com a sort of portal to all of my other websites.
